LIFE
 Robin Friday was born on 27th July 1952 in Acton, West 
  London.  
   He died in Acton on 22nd December 1990 at only 38 years old.  

      CAREER
       From 1973-1976 he played professionally for Reading FC 
        (121 appearances and scoring 46 goals)
          From 1976-1977 he played for Cardiff City FC 
           (21 appearances and 6 goals)

              NOTABLE FACTS
              2010 – Football365 placed him 8th in a list of "wasted talents".
               2007 – Voted Reading's best ever player by the PFA
                2007 – Ranked 1st in Channel Four's list of "bad boys" 
                 2004 – Voted Reading & Cardiff  "all-time cult hero" (BBC poll) 
                  1999 – He was voted "Player of the Millennium"
          1996 – Welsh based rockers Super Furry Animals used his iconic picture of 
    throwing a V-sign on their album art for their single "The Man Don't Give a Fuck", 
     dedicated to his memory.
    
 RECOGNITION
  On March 31, 1976, Friday scored twice in Reading's 5-0 defeat of Tranmere Rovers, 
   but one goal was undoubtedly the best goals of all-time.  FIFA referee Clive Thomas 
    said of that goal " if it hadn't gone into the top corner of the net, it would have 
     broken the goalpost.  Even up against the likes of Pele and Johan Cruyff, that rates as 
      the best goal I have ever seen."
